BDO Alliance Workshop and Networking Event Being Held on June 10 with CPAFMA National Practice Management Conference

BDO Alliance USA, paired with the CPA Firm Management Association and the Association for Accounting Marketing, will be hosting a workshop for their members on June 10th at the MGM Grand Las Vegas just prior to the start of the AAM Summit and CPAFMA National Practice Management Conference, which have partnered this year with the AICPA's ENGAGE Conference.

Exclusively designed for BDO Alliance USA members attending these events, this half-day session will offer presentations and roundtable discussions on a variety of topics specific to marketers and firm administrators. Cost of attendance is $20, which includes the lunch, workshop and cocktail reception.


2019 Digitally Driven Firm Survey Results

In recognition of the evolving trends in digital operations, the CPAFMA 2019 Digitally Driven Firm Survey - formerly the CPAFMA Paperless Benchmarking Survey, the longest running paperless benchmarking survey in the accounting profession - was conducted as an update to the Association's 2017 survey. This important resource has been updated to provide you with the valuable, consistent benchmarking that we've all come to rely on through CPA Firm Management Association. CPAFMA Launches Missouri Chapter

The CPA Firm Management Association (CPAFMA) is proud to announce the launch of the CPAFMA Missouri Chapter, serving firm managers throughout the state. Championed by Amanda Simmonds of Brown Smith Wallace LLP in St. Louis, firm managers recently gathered at the Missouri Society of CPAs' offices where Andrew Grow, Director of Membership & Business Development helped identify potential leaders and spread the word about the Society's partnership with the Association. The new chapter has been created with the support of seven founding member firms, chief operating officers, firm administrators and practice managers in the state. CPAFMA's Missouri Chapter is empowering all CPA firms to thrive by expanding knowledge, sharing experiences, achieving through collaboration, influencing leadership and envisioning possibilities. 


Kimberly Fitzgerald, PAFM Honored with ACE Award

Kimberly Fitzgerald, PAFM, Director, Firm Administrator with Squire, Lemkin & Company LLP in Rockville, Maryland, received the CPA Firm Management Association’s ACE (Achievement, Commitment, Excellence) Award at its June 2018 National Practice Management Conference held in partnership with AICPA ENGAGE in Las Vegas, Nevada.

During the awards presentation, Jane Johnson, MBA, CMPE, PAFM, outgoing CPA Firm Management Association (CPAFMA) President, noted Fitzgerald’s skills in professionally managing Squire, Lemkin & Company’s practice, including managing the administrative staff, overseeing all firm financial transactions and reporting, troubleshooting IT systems in coordination with the firm’s IT consultants as well as handling all human resource matters.  She works closely with the managing partner as well as other partners in all aspects of firm management.


Sarah Snell Recognized as a Phenomenal Woman Under 40

On Thursday, September 13, the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore will celebrate its third annual Phenomenal Women Under 40 recognizing the emerging women leaders of our community. Loss Control & Risk Management Webinar Series

The AICPA PCPS/ National MAP Survey team listened to what CPAFMA members were saying about the survey and have delivered. The survey lets you benchmark your firm in key operational areas against top national and regional firms. It's also been simplified and takes less time than ever before to complete.

The CPA Firm Management Association is encouraging firms of all sizes to complete the survey before it closes on July 16.


Former CPAFMA National Chair to Head DFK Canada

The head of one of the best performing accounting firms in North America and former National Chair of the CPA Firm Management Association has been appointed President of DFK Canada. 

Nigel Jacobs, CEO of Taylor Leibow, is the new leader of the national group of DFK International, the top ten global accountancy association.

He officially took over from Andrew Logan, Senior Partner of Teed Saunders Doyle, at the annual conference of DFK Canada held in New Brunswick in June 2018.

Chad Knippel, Partner at Kingston Ross Pasnak, was made President elect and Beth Porter, Partner at Noseworthy Chapman, was welcomed as Vice President, becoming the newest member and first woman to serve on its executive committee.


CPAFMA Announces 2018-2019 Leadership Team

CPAFMA's 2018 Nominating Committee, chaired by Janine Zirrith, PAFM with Wilkin & Guttenplan, P.C. in East Brunswick, NJ, recently presented their slate of officers and directors to the organization's National Board for ratification. The slate was unanimously accepted.

The following members of CPAFMA have been nominated by the Nominating Committee to serve as officers for a one-year term or directors for a three-year term, beginning July 1, 2018. The Association thanks all of members submitting their name for nomination. The committee felt the decision was extremely difficult however it shows that CPAFMA has a membership with a dynamic and experienced leadership base.
