The CPA Firm Management Association leads CPA firm management by not only empowering CPA firms to thrive but individual professionals as well. The Association’s awards programs provide opportunities for recognition by CPA firm leaders and the accounting profession while building awareness of the dedication of CPAFMA members and their service to their respective firms, the profession and the Association.

The CPAFMA Firm Manager of the Year award is presented by the CPA Firm Management Association (CPAFMA) and has been awarded to some of North America’s most experienced and respected firm management professionals since its inception in 1989.

The CPAFMA Emerging Leader of the Year Award honors an individual who demonstrates a dedication to the CPA firm management profession through strong leadership, teamwork, and integrity, while continually developing their knowledge and experience, necessary in this ever-changing business.

Distinguished Service Award

Distinguished Service Awards are presented to individuals for those who have made an outstanding contribution to CPAFMA and the profession and have served as a resource and example to CPAFMA members. The award is awarded at the discretion of the board of directors and can be awarded to one or more individuals but does not have to be awarded each year.

Strategies For T&D Professionals to Demonstrate Value

Firm leaders are facing challenges in accelerating the development of their workforce due to a new generation of workers and the increasing complexity of work. This has led to the recognition of the need for dedicated professionals to organize and coordinate a learning environment for their employees. Some firms have distributed this role to existing positions, while others have hired dedicated Learning and Development (L&D) professionals.
