CPAFMA's Strategic Plan and Leadership

Published December 22, 2017

The CPAFMA Board of Directors has been hard at work on the renewal of the organization’s strategic plan, a process started in November of 2016 and continuing to evolve with successes and updates.  Through the process, the leadership has identified five initiatives as priorities over the next two years.

Initiatives

1) To evaluate the organization's leadership structure to engage new members, develop new leaders and provide education about CPA firm practice management.

2) To leverage and expand our alliances to increase market reach and protect our space.

3) To enhance, elevate and advocate for the PAFM credential while simultaneously growing the number of professionals with the designation.

4) To communicate and enhance the Association's value proposition.

5) To more fully engage our current and future members.

I would like to explain a little about our first initiative, a work group I have been working with for the last year. The work group's goals include building a strong organizational structure by identifying future leaders of the organization who can continue to make the CPAFMA a thought leading, sustainable and viable member driven organization within the accounting profession and engaging more members by providing additional leadership opportunities while building resources and bandwidth within an expanded leadership structure.

The committee that is charged with developing this strategy includes myself, Kim Fantaci with CPAFMA, Jeanie Price with DeLeon & Stang, Julie Giacobbe with MWA CPAs + Business Advisors, and Shauna Schilling with Mowery & Schoenfeld. This is the same committee involved in the startup of the CPAFMA Leadership Institute (see related article) and identifying potential leaders from the Institute for the Association's chapters, committees and Board, as well as the evaluation of the program. Part of the evaluation will include a recommendation for future Leadership Institutes.

We are also establishing an Emerging Leaders Community using social media. Please check out our Twitter, FacebookInstagram and LinkedIn pages and groups on a regular basis for the latest information on the organization and membership community.

If any member has an interest in joining the leadership team of the CPAFMA, please contact Kim Fantaci.
