Course Description

This course will cover the business case for gender diversity, the rise of the MeToo movement, and the liability implications of gender issues in the workplace.

Objectives:
•Understand the business imperative of gender diversity
•Gain perspective on the MeToo women’s initiative of 2017/2018
•Gain a clear understanding of the liability challenges facing those impacted by gender issues in the workplace

Presenter and Moderator Bios
Amy Tufaro is the Executive Vice President for Jorgensen & Company and Hunt Jorgensen. She oversees the CPAGold™, AdvisersGold™, LawGold™, and Firemark™ Programs; all of which are national Professional Liability Programs. She joined Jorgensen & Company in 2011. Prior to that, she was Vice President of CBR Insurance Programs, launching and leading the underwriting team for a Lawyers Professional Liability Program with OneBeacon Insurance. Amy started her insurance career in 1986, going to work at her family’s local insurance agency, which was started by her grandparents in the 1950’s.

Outside of work, Amy has been active in her municipalities Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse, which is a township appointment that she has held since 2001. She is also active in the Cedar Grove Chapter of UNICO National, the largest Italian American Service Organization in the United States. She is the first female Chapter President in Cedar Grove’s 32 year history, having been sworn-in in June 2018.
Carol Zacharias is Senior Vice President, Underwriting Counsel for QBE North America. She is responsible for leading product development for QBE North America's Specialty Insurance and Property & Casualty business lines on a cross-commercial platform. Carol also drives continuous product innovation and oversees development of thought leadership.

She is a member of the board of the Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development (ACORD). Carol has served as Chairman of the American Bar Association Business Law Section's Business Insurance Committee and Vice Chairman of the Professional, Officers' and Directors' Liability Law Committee of the Tort and Insurance Practice Section. She also served as co-chair of the insurance sub-committee of the American Bar Association Litigation Section's Committee on Corporate Counsel.

She has been published in the Journal of Commerce, National Underwriter, Global Reinsurance, Bank Director, Professional Agent, Journal of Accountancy, John Liner Review, Professional Agent, Insights, BNA's Tax Management & Compensation Planning Journal and Liability Corporate Analyst. Carol has been quoted in various publications, including the Wall Street Journal and Business Insurance. She is a frequent speaker at events and taught professional liability at New York's College of Insurance, now part of St. John's University.


Erin Fry is the SVP for QBE North America’s Specialty & Casualty Programs business. She is focused on developing and executing the strategic underwriting plan for driving specialty and casualty products through the program distribution channel. Erin also manages program administrator relationships by overseeing and evaluating new and renewal business, defining risk parameters and capitalizing on opportunities for continuous improvement. She joined QBE in 2015 from XL Catlin where she was the Head of Professional Liability Programs. Prior to joining XL Catlin, Erin worked as a Staff Attorney for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Erin serves as co-chair of QBE North America’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN). Their mission empowers women to lead co-ed initiatives, while fostering an inclusive and gender diverse environment throughout the organization.

Delivery System

  • All programs are delivered using the Zoom platform.
  • Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
  • Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
  • All registrants will receive a link to the MAPCast’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
  • There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.

Registration

All registration is done on-line with the names and email addresses of each individual guest. Log-in details will be emailed to all registrants approximately 1-2 days prior to each session.

Refund Policy

CPAFMA will not issue refunds for MAPCasts. If a registrant is unable to participate in the MAPCast and sends written notice to info@cpafma.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future MAPCast. Alert the CPAFMA staff member monitoring the MAPCast if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future MAPCasts.

Additional Information

Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to show active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the MAPCast recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits.
