Tax Season Debrief Considerations

One of the most effective ways to improve your firm’s tax processes and production is with the post-busy season debrief process. BDO Alliance Workshop and Networking Event Being Held on June 10 with CPAFMA National Practice Management Conference

BDO Alliance USA, paired with the CPA Firm Management Association and the Association for Accounting Marketing, will be hosting a workshop for their members on June 10th at the MGM Grand Las Vegas just prior to the start of the AAM Summit and CPAFMA National Practice Management Conference, which have partnered this year with the AICPA's ENGAGE Conference.

Exclusively designed for BDO Alliance USA members attending these events, this half-day session will offer presentations and roundtable discussions on a variety of topics specific to marketers and firm administrators. Roman Kepczyk Expands Role with Right Networks as Director of Firm Technology Strategy

CPAFMA Launches Missouri Chapter

The CPA Firm Management Association (CPAFMA) is proud to announce the launch of the CPAFMA Missouri Chapter, serving firm managers throughout the state. Championed by Amanda Simmonds of Brown Smith Wallace LLP in St. Louis, firm managers recently gathered at the Missouri Society of CPAs' offices where Andrew Grow, Director of Membership & Business Development helped identify potential leaders and spread the word about the Society's partnership with the Association. The new chapter has been created with the support of seven founding member firms, chief operating officers, firm administrators and practice managers in the state. CPAFMA's Missouri Chapter is empowering all CPA firms to thrive by expanding knowledge, sharing experiences, achieving through collaboration, influencing leadership and envisioning possibilities.

Kimberly Fitzgerald, PAFM Honored with ACE Award

Kimberly Fitzgerald, PAFM, Director, Firm Administrator with Squire, Lemkin & Company LLP in Rockville, Maryland, received the CPA Firm Management Association’s ACE (Achievement, Commitment, Excellence) Award at its June 2018 National Practice Management Conference held in partnership with AICPA ENGAGE in Las Vegas, Nevada.

During the awards presentation, Jane Johnson, MBA, CMPE, PAFM, outgoing CPA Firm Management Association (CPAFMA) President, noted Fitzgerald’s skills in professionally managing Squire, Lemkin & Company’s practice, including managing the administrative staff, overseeing all firm financial transactions and reporting, troubleshooting IT systems in coordination with the firm’s IT consultants as well as handling all human resource matters.  She works closely with the managing partner as well as other partners in all aspects of firm management.
