Job Description:
Position Summary:
Firm in Peachtree City, GA seeks full time Staff Accountant.
Candidate must be extremely professional in appearance and manner, willing to accept direction, quick to learn new things, customer service oriented, and have an ability to learn new computer programs and software platforms.
Core working hours are 8:30 AM t0 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with significant seasonal increase in hours from February 1st to April 15th, and Saturdays may be required during tax season.
Position Overview:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to prepare individual and business tax returns, prepare monthly financial reporting for numerous small business clients across multiple different industries, and to assist with Attestation fieldwork and reporting.
Position Requirement:
- Undergraduate and/or Graduate degree in Business related field, Accounting preferred
- CPA license, preferably in GA or in process (preferred but not required
- 0-5 years of experience (experience in individual and small business tax preparation a plus)
- Entrepreneurial spirit as this position requires you to frequently work autonomously
- Ability to handle demands of tax season
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, customers, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to investigate, research, and resolve problems or concerns
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks
- Ability to pay close attention to detail, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
- Ability to take complete and accurate notes
- Skill in operating various office equipment including personal computer, fax machine, copier, etc.
- Skill in utilizing various software packages such as Microsoft Office and various online applications
- Skills in verbal and written communication
- Skills with tax preparation software (preferably Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS)
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and communication skills
Job Duties:
- Perform tax, accounting, and supporting attestation functions for clients across many industries
- Perform general administrative and support functions for the office including but not limited to maintaining files, organizing paperwork and/or files, preparing reports, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, copying
materials, faxing, and shipping - Organize, coordinate, and maintain all client paperwork and/or files
- Correspond with clients to setup new accounts, scheduling, and other forms
- Setup files correctly and obtain necessary information
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
