Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic accounting firm. In this role, you will leverage your extensive accounting expertise to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective financial analysis. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct detailed account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting.
- Manage tax preparation processes, including tax experience related to corporate taxes, estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law, and tax accounting.
- Perform auditing procedures to ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) standards and internal controls.
- Support financial planning and analysis activities such as budgeting, financial report writing, interpretation of financial data, and variance analysis.
- Utilize various accounting software tools like QuickBooks, Sage, UltraTax, and other financial software for bookkeeping and financial data management.
- Ensure accurate asset management through asset tracking and depreciation calculations.
- Contribute to regulatory reporting requirements by preparing detailed reports aligned with securities law and other compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
- Will consider an Enrolled Agent willing to get their CPA
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a strong background in Tax knowledge and returns.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance and regulatory reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; experience with financial software is essential.
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Demonstrated ability in auditing procedures, financial report writing & interpretation, and financial statement preparation.
- Skilled in budgeting, financial planning, asset management, investment analysis, and non-profit accounting if applicable.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately; strong attention to detail is critical.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting findings clearly.
