Course Description

Please join Michael Horwitz, Executive Director of BDO Alliance. Michael will share his insights of the evolving marketplace from his perspective at BDO USA. In addition, he will share what he has learned from the 215 CPA firms that are independent members of the BDO Alliance USA.

Michael has been a longtime supporter of CPAFMA, and is proud of his association, in addition to many CPAFMA Board members (including Chair Sharon Trabbic, PAFM, William Vaughn Company, Kristine Latchaw, PAFM, CPA, Director of Membership & Growth, Maner Costerisan, Roman Kepczyk, CPA.CITP, CGMA, PAFM, Advisor, Right Networks, Joyce Arthur, PAFM, Director of Education, BDO Alliance USA, and Ann White, PAFM, immediate Past Chair, BDO USA).

Presenter and Moderator Bios
Michael is responsible for managing relationships with the BDO Alliance USA firms on the East Coast, and is responsible for recruitment of new CPA alliance firms east of the Mississippi River. Michael is passionate about the accounting profession, and the value that the trusted advisors providing assurance, tax, and consulting services deliver to the business community as well as to individuals.

By sharing our knowledge base, experience, tools, training, resources, and people in a collaborative, easy to access relationship model we call the BDO Alliance USA, we are elevating the level of professionalism in the industry, and leveling the playing field with respect to choices available to businesses and individuals. When national level resources are deployed in local communities, everybody wins.

Michael was a Partner at a Big Four Firm, where he spearheaded their CPA Connection Alliance, a national alliance program to provide services to and serve clients of regional and local accounting firms. Previously, Michael was a Tax Partner, leading a Big Four Firm’s property tax business development efforts on a national business, and its northeast operations.

He is a business development executive with a proven track record for originating and implementing innovative and profitable business models. His leadership style emphasizes passion, teamwork, and integrity while sharply focused on increasing revenues, margins and market penetration.

Delivery System

  • All programs are delivered using the Zoom platform.
  • Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
  • Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
  • All registrants will receive a link to the MAPCast’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
  • There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.

Registration

All registration is done on-line with the names and email addresses of each individual guest. Log-in details will be emailed to all registrants approximately 1-2 days prior to each session.

Refund Policy

CPAFMA will not issue refunds for MAPCasts. If a registrant is unable to participate in the MAPCast and sends written notice to info@cpafma.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future MAPCast. Alert the CPAFMA staff member monitoring the MAPCast if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future MAPCasts.

Additional Information

Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to show active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the MAPCast recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits.
