Course Description
The path to partner will vary from firm to firm and it may even vary within a firm from year to year, but by establishing core competencies upon which promotions may be based, a firm is defining what is expected throughout a career progression. This Best Practice attempts to outline some of the issues that you need to consider. Keep in mind that leaves or positions as well as the definition and expectations of each within firms will vary. Some firms have levels that others do not. It is worth the time to evaluate your current levels and the expectations at each level to determine if these are representing where you want your firm to go. Other considerations include the firm’s governance structure and how partner structure fits into your model. For example, some firms have equity and income partners and may not distinguish between either for path to partner purposes; others just equity; some have Directors and others don’t. In this one-hour session, the path to partner will be explored and examples provided. All participants will receive a copy of the CPAFMA’s Best Practice, A Path to Partner.Presenter and Moderator Bios
