Course Description
Due to a host of changes in our profession, business development is once again a top issue firms are grappling with. During this one-hour MAPCast, Sam Allred will discuss five of the top business development mistakes commonly made in our profession and provide thoughts and ideas on how to avoid these mistakes.Presenter and Moderator Bios
Sam Allred, CPA, Helena, Montana is a Shareholder with Anderson ZurMuehlen & Co., P.C., a regional CPA firm headquartered in Helena, Montana. Sam is also the Founder and Director of Upstream Academy, LeaderSkills Institute and the Emerging Leaders Academy.
Sam interacts with hundreds of CPA firms around the world every year via conferences, partner retreats, management presentations and training sessions. He speaks and writes extensively both in the U.S. and abroad. In high demand as a facilitator for CPA firm retreats, Sam energetically and creatively engages all of the partners in the discussion, using proven processes and their firm’s strengths to successfully navigate challenges the firm may face. He is viewed as one of the top strategic thinkers in the profession.
Sam has been regularly recognized as one of the major influencers of the accounting profession and has been listed for the past four years as one of “IPA Most Recommended Consultants.”
His hobbies include spending time with his family, fly fishing and golf. Sam and his wife Marlene have seven children.

Delivery System
- All programs are delivered using the Zoom platform.
- Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
- Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
- All registrants will receive a link to the webinar’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
- There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.
Registration
All registration is done on-line with the names and email addresses of each individual guest. Log-in details will be emailed to all registrants approximately 1-2 days prior to each session.
Refund Policy
CPAFMA will not issue refunds for webinars. If a registrant is unable to participate in the webinar and sends written notice to info@cpafma.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future webinar. Alert the CPAFMA staff member monitoring the webinar if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future webinars.
Additional Information
Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to show active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the webinar recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits.
