CPA Firm Management Association’s educational opportunities and conferences have a lasting impact on our members, helping them to achieve the highest level of expertise within the profession of firm management and creating network opportunities, both professional and personal, that last a lifetime.

CPAFMA was the first organization to host a national conference for accounting firm managers. The conference continues to be the only one designed exclusively by and for professional those in firm practice management. Our national and local/regional events enable firm managers from across the country and even beyond our borders to network, exchange information and ideas, and make business and personal contacts that can have a lasting impact on their careers and the success of their firms. Our conferences have been widely acclaimed as a necessary component of every firm manager's professional education program. CPAFMA is a registered sponsor on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. Upon course completion, participants attending CPAFMA's conferences, desiring CPE credit, will earn credit hours.

CPAFMA offers between 25-36 MAPCasts each year, featuring topics you want to learn more about. From business development, training, practice management, marketing, operations, finance, IT and human resources, we have a MAPCast for you. PAFMs enjoy MAPCasts without charge and they are available to members and non-members at a nominal fee. PODCasts are immediately available for viewing and are free to members after a year.

Michigan Chapter - Workplace Violence

It would NOT happen at my Firm! Workplace Violence on Your Doorstep… It is difficult to get through any week without hearing a story about an act of workplace violence or an active shooter situation that occurred somewhere in the world. Workplace violence is a potentially serious risk to any business or firm resulting in the potential for reduced productivity, decreased revenue and loss of reputation. Higher turnover results from the stress and potential traumatic after-effects of a violent incident. This interactive session includes important information to assist you in protecting your firm, including discussing types of workplace violence that occur and the characteristics and warning signs of potential violence. Additionally, steps that all firms and businesses can take to prevent acts of violence from occurring and discussing what to do if an unwanted intruder enters your office or building will round out this session.
