Abdo COO is the Firm’s First Non-CPA Partner

EDINA, MN — January 13, 2022 — Abdo, a Minnesota-based public accounting firm providing audit, tax and consulting services for a wide range of governments, organizations and businesses, announces the promotion of its COO, Jana Cinnamon, to the position of partner. She is the first non-CPA partner in the firm’s history.

“Jana is an incredible addition to our partner team,” said Steve McDonald, managing partner of Abdo. “She has a great combination of intelligence, caring and business sense that is hard to find in any individual.” McDonald noted that her leadership abilities have shaped the culture of the firm. “Her influence has created an exceptional employee and client experience.”

Jana joined Abdo in 2012 and serves on the firm’s Leadership Team. Named Chief Operating Officer in 2017, she oversees human resources, firm administration, and technology.

Jana holds a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management in Human Resources and Industrial Relations. She serves on the National Board of Directors of the CPA Firm Management Association and is the immediate past president of that organization’s Minnesota Chapter. A member of the March of Dimes Minnesota Board of Directors, she currently serves as the 2022 March for Babies Campaign Chair. She has received numerous awards, including “Top 50 Women in Accounting – 2019”, by Practice Ignition.

A resident of Chanhassen, Minnesota, Jana and her husband, Dan, enjoy spending family time with their teenage daughter.
