Course Description

Join us in this MAPCast for a fascinating look into the world of electronic forensics!

What exactly is computer forensics? It is the collection, preservation, analysis and presentation of computer-related evidence. Computer evidence can be very useful in criminal cases, civil disputes and human resources or employment proceedings.

Did you know that far more information is retained on a computer than most people would have ever realized? It is becoming increasingly more difficult to completely remove information. For these reasons (and hundreds more), utilizing computer forensics can often unearth evidence of, or even completely recover, lost or deleted information, even if it was intentionally "erased".

Computers and their usage can be the life blood of an organization. As businesses come to rely on them more and more, employers must know how to safeguard vital business information. In today's world, unfortunately, the reality is that there exists a real threat to a company's data. It could be damaged, destroyed or misappropriated, by a disgruntled employee or group. Could your firm or business "reconstruct evidence", from for example, a hard drive that appears to have been wiped clean?

Don't miss the opportunity to find out from an industry expert how other businesses have dealt with these growing threats.
