Course Description

Throughout the accounting profession, shareholder / partner unity and accountability remain in the forefront as a top issue for firms of all sizes. Leadership by a group – as opposed to an individual – presents a unique set of challenges that affect morale, productivity and, by its nature, defines the culture. By exploring how groups work and understanding how they grow into productivity and effectiveness, you can help speed up the process for your shareholder group to thrive.

Topics to be explored during this 30-minute session include:

• Understanding the stages of development around groups – including how to identify at which level a partner group is operating – can offer insight into what needs to be done to elevate that group’s development. This insight into how groups work will address general expectations around timelines, verbal behavior, how perceptions of group members correlate with the effectiveness of the group and what it will take to achieve productivity.
• Learn what role the personality of the leader plays in the success of the group and what personality traits can feed dysfunction; we will also explore how these detrimental traits can be overcome. Participants will learn where to look for the most dependable feedback surrounding the effectiveness of your leaderships team/s.
• We will offer alternative methods by which you can establish and maintain a heightened sense of awareness around the teams / groups activities and progress and how to have that permeate throughout your entire organization

Presenter and Moderator Bios
Lisa Tierney, CLSC is an award-winning marketing consultant and a certified life strategies coach with nearly twenty years of experience in serving multi-partner professional services providers across the U.S. She has provided webinars, teleconferences, workshops and keynote presentations for such organizations as the Association for Accounting Marketing, the International Coach Federation, the PICPA, the CPA Firm Management Association, the Institute of Management Accountants, to name just a few. She is a member of the CPA Leadership Institute's Leadership Panel and an active member of the International Coach Federation. She has been published in numerous publications, including Accounting Today, Legal Intelligencer, and the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Delivery System

• All programs are delivered using the Zoom platform.
• Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
• Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
• All registrants will receive a link to the MAPCast’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
• There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.

Registration

All registration is done on-line with the names and email addresses of each individual guest. Log-in details will be emailed to all registrants approximately 1-2 days prior to each session.

Refund Policy

CPAFMA will not issue refunds for MAPCasts. If a registrant is unable to participate in the MAPCast and sends written notice to info@cpafma.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future MAPCast. Alert the CPAFMA staff member monitoring the MAPCast if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future MAPCasts.

Additional Information

Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to show active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the MAPCast recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits.
