Course Description

This MAPCast presentation on Avoiding Sexual & Other Forms of Harassment was designed to help attendees be able to:

  • Recognize those words, behaviors, and visuals that might reasonably be regarded as
    • sexual or another form of workplace harassment, or

    • inappropriate in the workplace

  • Understand the role and responsibility of employers, managers and supervisors, and employees based on relevant federal and state laws

  • Assess their organization’s preventive mechanisms and identify action steps for improvement


Also includes a brief discussion of online vs. onsite training options.

Presenter and Moderator Bios
Angela Deitch is president of Angela Deitch Consulting, a management consulting firm located in West Trenton, NJ.

Deitch brings extensive experience to her work. Prior to launching her firm in 1995, she served as organization and management effectiveness consultant with the State of New Jersey. In that capacity she was instrumental in the on-going design and improvement of management development programs. She also led major training initiatives including design and implementation of a program for Prevention of Sexual Harassment for the state’s 70,000-plus employees.

Earlier, Deitch held positions as marketing director for Educational Technologies, Inc., a company that developed and marketed assessment and training programs for private and public sector organizations internationally, and district coordinator for curriculum and instruction for the East Brunswick, NJ schools.

Angela Deitch received her M.Ed. from Rutgers University following undergraduate studies at Douglass College and the University of Paris at the Sorbonne. In addition, she has had extensive training in communication, leadership, and team development.

Deitch is active in several professional organizations and serves on the board of the American Society for Training and Development (Mid-NJ Chapter ASTD) and the Human Resources Management Association (HRMA). In addition, she recently completed her sixth year on the Board of Directors of the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce. Other affiliations include the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and Institute of Management Consultants (IMC).

As a management consultant, Angela Deitch helps organization leaders achieve measurable results in three strategic target areas:

Mary Ellen Meador, CPA, PHR (Professional in Human Resources), has broad experience in both public and private accounting. She has been the Director of Administration for Kemper CPA Group LLP since 1993 and became a partner in 2002. Prior to joining Kemper CPA Group, Mary Ellen served as the controller and secretary/treasurer for a construction company where her duties, in addition to financial reporting, included supervision of accounting and office personnel.

At Kemper CPA Group LLP, Mary Ellen’s duties as Chief Operating Officer involve financial reporting and oversight in Human Resources and Administration. The Firm has over 300 employees in Illinois, Indiana, Florida, Kentucky and California.

Mary Ellen received a Bachelor of Science in Business from Eastern Illinois University in May of 1982, and currently serves as an Executive Committee member on the EIU School of Business Accountancy Board. She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1985 and a licensed Professional in Human Resources (PHR) in 2000.

As a member of the Association for Accounting Administration, she has held offices in the Indiana Chapter and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the National Association.

Cost

Delivery System

  • All programs are delivered using the Zoom platform.
  • Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
  • Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
  • All registrants will receive a link to the MAPCast’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
  • There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.

Registration

All registration is done on-line with the names and email addresses of each individual guest. Log-in details will be emailed to all registrants approximately 1-2 days prior to each session.

Refund Policy

CPAFMA will not issue refunds for MAPCasts. If a registrant is unable to participate in the MAPCast and sends written notice to info@cpafma.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future MAPCast. Alert the CPAFMA staff member monitoring the MAPCast if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future MAPCasts.

Additional Information

Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to show active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the MAPCast recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits.
