Course Description

Defining the roles and responsibilities of your people (and the principals) in your firm will help you be more productive and profitiable while also helping you create a more satisfying, motivating team environment.

Learn methods for easily developing role definitions for your team and what key components are required. Pick up pointers on how these role definitions will enable you to recruit the right people the first time and retain them a long time.

Make sure when creating and implementing different functional areas of your practice, that no "task" is without an "owner". Just how clearly is YOUR role defined in your workgroup? Pick up on effective ways to transition responsibilites - usually yours! - from one role to another to make your team more productive and effective.

Presenter and Moderator Bios
Jennifer Wilson is a co-founder and owner of ConvergencCoaching, LLC, a national leadership and marketing consulting firm dedicated to helping CPA and IT firms achieve success by helping them develop and implement success plans. Jennifer's ultimate goal is to make a transformational difference in the lives of her clients and in their businesses.

Jennifer is the former Vice President of Sales and Customer Serives for Best Software, Inc. and partner at BDO Seidman, LLP. Jennifer's background includes consulting leadership, channel program development and marketing management. She is the past Chair of the AICPA TECH 2002-2004 Conferences and serves on the Board of the Information Technonlogy Alliance. Jennifer has many recently published articles on leadership, marketing and sales and has been named one of Accounting Today's 100 Most Influential People for the past four years.

Tamera Loerzel is a senior consultant for ConvergenceCoaching, LLC, a national leadership and marketing consulting firm dedicated to helping CPA and IT firms achieve success by helping them develop and implement success plans. Providing strategic planning and tactical implementation services focused on helping her clients grow their business, Tamera leverages her past experience to ensure her clients capitalize on the opportunities facing their practices and businesses.

Tamera directed the national sales and marketing efforts of the package solutions group and managed a local consulting practice at BDO Seidman, LLP. Prior to BDO Seidman, Tamera was responsible for software sales, CPA and VAR programs and channel marketing communications at Best Software, Inc. Tamera served on the planning committee for the AICPA TECH 2002 and 2003 Conferences, 2004 and 2005 Practitioners Symposium, 2004 Fall Information Technology Alliance (ITA) Collaborative, and is currently serving on the planning committee for the 2006 ITA Spring Members Conference and the 2006 AICPA Practitioners Symposium. In addition, she has written articles for several state and national CPA publications on the topics of sales and marketing.

Delivery System

  • All programs are delivered using the Zoom platform.
  • Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
  • Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
  • All registrants will receive a link to the MAPCast’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
  • There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.

Registration

All registration is done on-line with the names and email addresses of each individual guest. Log-in details will be emailed to all registrants approximately 1-2 days prior to each session.

Refund Policy

CPAFMA will not issue refunds for MAPCasts. If a registrant is unable to participate in the MAPCast and sends written notice to info@cpafma.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future MAPCast. Alert the CPAFMA staff member monitoring the MAPCast if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future MAPCasts.

Additional Information

Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to show active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the MAPCast recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits.
