Course Description

Staying focused when you have an accounting practice to manage seems impossible at times! But without focus, you may be resolved to irregular and inconsistent efforts which are a waste of time, money and discouraging to all involved. Address what’s been long-missing from professional services: Accountability. The art/science of coaching fosters the necessary change agent that “un-sticks” professionals – enabling them to stop engaging in the long-term behavior or attitude that is clearly no longer serving them; conversely, it will enforce an ability to finally participate in a more favorable (or required) behavior that is desired but, for whatever reason, seems impossible to adapt or learn. This MAPCast will demonstrate successful tools and techniques that coaches use to keep CPAs focused and moving toward their goals. These will enhance all areas of business communication by clearly defining the critical parameter around any meaningful exchange or interaction – i.e. mindfulness.

Topics to be explored during this 30-minute session include:

• Mirroring concerns/identifying issues
• Assessing conflict
• Identifying limiting beliefs and self-imposed obstacles

Presenter and Moderator Bios
Lisa Tierney, CLSC is an award-winning marketing consultant and a certified life strategies coach with nearly twenty years of experience in serving multi-partner professional services providers across the U.S. She has provided webinars, teleconferences, workshops and keynote presentations for such organizations as the Association for Accounting Marketing, the International Coach Federation, the PICPA, the CPA Firm Management Association, the Institute of Management Accountants, to name just a few. She is a member of the CPA Leadership Institute's Leadership Panel and an active member of the International Coach Federation. She has been published in numerous publications, including Accounting Today, Legal Intelligencer, and the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Delivery System

• All programs are delivered using the Zoom platform.
• Confirmations will include log-in instructions.
• Participants are able to participate using any device with an Internet connect (if the device does not have speakers, the participant can also dial-in) or they can participate with audio only by dialing in.
• All registrants will receive a link to the MAPCast’s recording by email within 48 business hours of event’s conclusion.
• There will be assistance available to help with technical and connectivity issues up to 10 minutes prior to the start of the presentation.

Registration

All registration is done on-line with the names and email addresses of each individual guest. Log-in details will be emailed to all registrants approximately 1-2 days prior to each session.

Refund Policy

CPAFMA will not issue refunds for MAPCasts. If a registrant is unable to participate in the MAPCast and sends written notice to info@cpafma.org 48 hours prior to the session, a credit will be provided for a future MAPCast. Alert the CPAFMA staff member monitoring the MAPCast if technical difficulties are encountered and technical support will be provided to eliminate problems with future MAPCasts.

Additional Information

Live participation is required for CPE credit and polling questions must be answered to show active participation. All registrants will receive an email following the session with links to the slides and/or handouts, and a link to the MAPCast recording (unless otherwise stated). If you are unable to participate in the live session, you can still watch the recorded session, but you will not be eligible for CPE credits.
