Course Description

This course will explore the advantages of multi-employer group purchasing for medical, prescription drug and ancillary coverage(s).

As CPA firms it is important both for your own firm and your clients to understand employee benefit funding strategies that will provide long term stability and shelter you from the ever increasing claim volatility in the current healthcare environment. This session will review risk management, traditional funding options and alternative funding options in today’s market. These will include carrier level funded plans, health insurance captive model and health insurance group purchasing consortium model. In addition, we will review the pros and cons to each of the funding models.

These advanced funding models, typically seen used in the past by larger employers are now available to smaller markets and must be considered in order to remain competitive and to achieve the best value on employer based healthcare.
