Course Description

CPA firms from across the country have told the AICPA and other organizations that they want to improve their culture but often don't know where to begin. The AICPA has launched several new tools to assist CPA firms in expanding and enhancing diversity and inclusion efforts and this one-hour session will touch on what's out there and the Direction of Diversity & Inclusion for Firm Management. According to AICPA President and CEO Barry Melancon, CPA, CGMA, "As demographics continue to shift in the US and Canada and the share of entrepreneurial capital held by minority-owned businesses rises, it is increasingly obvious that clients and employers of CPAs will expect more diverse workforces and cultivating a culture that fosters diversity and inclusion is a business imperative." Everyone involved in the profession is devoted to encouraging and promoting diversity and inclusion within the profession and workforce. Your firm should be reflective and inclusive of the global communities in which it serves - different people, different cultures, and different perspectives. This will allow your firm to be positioned to innovatively solve the challenging and complex issues facing clients and the evolving public interest.
