Why Should Managing Partners Attend the NPMC?

Published August 25, 2016

It was several years ago when our firm administrator returned from the annual practice management conference put on by the Association for Accounting Administration.  Upon her return she reviewed several of the sessions with me and some ideas that she had formulated while at the conference.  Having implemented many ideas from the conference and with her encouragement I decided to attend the conference the next year. As a result, June of this year, I attended my sixth National Practice Management Conference put on by what is now the CPA Firm Management Association.

As the managing partner of my firm there are many reasons why I look forward to attending the conference every year.  One of the biggest reasons I continue to attend the conference goes back to always getting ideas that will make my firm the best.  The agenda is always filled with the best national speakers covering the topics that really matter to me and the future of my firm.  One of the best sessions are the roundtable discussions by firm size which really allow similar firms to get to know each other and share ideas in many areas of the management of the firm.  Even when the sessions are over, there are many opportunities to continue to network with other firm administrator and managing partners.

I would recommend attending this conference to all managing partners if they are in search of excellent content and ideas to improve the management of their firms.
